About the Journal

Journal Galung Tropika (p-ISSN 2302-4178, e-ISSN 2407-6279), published three times a year by the Faculty of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare, is a forum for researchers to share the latest findings in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and plant biology. With a focus on sustainable agricultural development in Indonesia, JGT has been a reference for research since its establishment in 2012.

Focus, Scope, and Objectives of Journal Galung Tropika

Journal Galung Tropika is a scientific forum dedicated to spurring innovation and development of science in the field of agriculture. This journal specifically highlights in-depth studies on sustainable agricultural production systems, optimal management of natural resources, and development of high-quality agricultural products.

The scope of Journal Galung Tropika covers a variety of topics, including:

  • Plant cultivation: Superior varieties, modern cultivation techniques, pest and disease control, and post-harvest.
  • Animal husbandry: Livestock genetics, nutrition and feed, animal health, and livestock product production.
  • Fisheries: Aquaculture, fish resource management, fishery product processing technology, and aquaculture.
  • Plant biology: Plant physiology, plant biotechnology, plant molecular genetics, and plant-microbe interactions.
  • Agricultural socio-economics: Agricultural policy, agricultural product marketing, agribusiness, and rural development.

Brief History of Journal Galung Tropika 

Journal Galung Tropika officially started its online publication in 2015 and has experienced significant development. Since its inception, this journal has been committed to presenting quality agricultural research results. Over time, JGT has continued to make improvements in appearance, writing structure, and evaluation system to improve the quality of publications. In 2021, the appearance of the writing template was revised to comply with international journal standards. These efforts have paid off with Sinta 4 accreditation in 2018, which was then upgraded to Sinta 3 in 2019.

Archiving System for Long-Term Security

To ensure the long-term preservation of published articles, Journal Galung Tropika uses the LOCKSS archiving system. This system creates multiple copies of all articles and stores them in various locations, guaranteeing that our articles will always be accessible, even if the main server fails.
