Publication Ethics
Journal Galung Tropika is an official ISSN scientific publication from LIPI managed by the Faculty of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries UMPAR. GT Journal is published in 3 numbers per volume each year, containing scientific papers on research results, reviews, or original ideas on agriculture in general (agrocomplex), plant biology, and sustainable agricultural development that have never been published. This scientific code of ethics statement is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the process of publishing scientific journals in this journal, namely managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. This statement of the code of ethics for scientific publications is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which in essence this Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethical values ??in publications, namely (i) Neutrality, namely free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; (ii) Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (iii) Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications. Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
- Determine the membership of the editorial board and be free from conflicts of interest.
- Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and peer reviewers.
- Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- Review journal policies and convey them to authors, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers.
- Publish journals regularly.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Meeting the needs of readers and authors,
- Striving to continuously improve the quality of publications,
- Implementing a process to ensure the quality of published writings,
- Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively,
- Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record,
- Delivering corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when necessary,
- Being responsible for the style and format of the writing, while the content and all statements in the writing are the responsibility of the author,
- Actively soliciting the opinions of authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,
- Encouraging journal assessments if there are findings,
- Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication errors,
- Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
- Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and reviewers and improving them to increase responsibility and reduce errors,
- Having an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions,
- Not defending one's own opinion, the author's or a third party's that may result in an unjust decision objective,
- Encourage authors to make improvements to their written work until it is worthy of publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Carry out tasks from the editor to review written works and submit the results of the review to the editor, as a material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication.
- Reviewers may not review written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly.
- Maintain the privacy of the author by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.
- Encourage authors to make improvements to written works regarding the substance in order to produce worthy scientific works.
- Re-review written works that have been corrected according to predetermined standards.
- Written works are reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
- Ensure that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors.
- Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
- State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
- Explain the limitations of the research.
- Respond to comments made by reviewers in a professional and timely manner.
- Inform the editor if you will withdraw your paper.
- Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
